The first Peruvian-owned cement company "Compañía Peruana de Cemento Portland" was founded, and with it, our emblematic Cemento Sol brand.

Cemento Andino is created with the construction of the Condorcocha plant in Junín, Peru at 4,000 m.a.s.l., and the Carpapata I hydroelectric power plant.

Cementos Lima is created under the management and direction of Sindicato de Inversiones y Administración - SIA (50.5%) and the shareholders of Compañía Peruana de Cementos Portland (49.5%).

The Group went through the toughest period in its history with the expropriation of Cementos Lima and Cemento Andino by the military government.

After 6 years, 51% of the shares and control of Cementos Lima and Cemento Andino were returned, however, both were in very poor condition. These were hard times when both companies almost went bankrupt.

SIA regains 49% of the shares and control of Cementos Lima. Consequently, the government makes a public offering on the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL).

UNICON was born as a result of the merger between COPRESA and HORMEC.

Cementos Lima triples its clinker production capacity to 3.6 million t and cement to 4.5 million t annually.

Cementos Lima created what is now the Asociación UNACEM, the company's social responsibility arm.

Led by IASA, Cemento Andino is reprivatized. Subsequently, the company is listed on the Lima Stock Exchange

Construction of the 8 km underground conveyor belt connecting the Atocongo plant to the Conchán pier is completed.

PROGRESOL hardware stores network is created.

Celepsa starts operations of the El Platanal hydroelectric power plant (220 MW) in Cañete, Peru.

The internationalisation of the Group is achieved with the start of operations of the Drake Cement plant in the USA with a capacity of 0.6 million tonnes for the production of clinker and 0.6 million tonnes of cement per year.

UNACEM is born after the merger of Cementos Lima and Cemento Andino.

The capacity of Kiln I of the Atocongo plant was increased from 4.5 to 5.5 million tons of cement per year.

Following the acquisition of Lafarge's operations in Ecuador, UNACEM Ecuador, the Group's second international operation, is created.

The grinding capacity at the Condorcocha plant was increased from 2.1 to 2.8 million t of cement per year.

The Marañón hydroelectric power plant in Peru begins operations under the management of Celepsa.

Start of operations of the Carpapata III hydroelectric power plant (12.8 MW) that supplies the Condorcocha plant.

Acquisition of Hormigonera Quito, now managed by UNACEM Ecuador.

UNICON acquires Hormigones Independencia, today UNICON Chile.

UNACEM obtains CEMPOR.

UNACEM merges with SIA, IASA and Pronto, consolidating the knowledge, strategy and specialization of these companies.

10 years of PROGRESOL, achieving a network of more than 800 hardware stores.

UNACEM enters the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

Acquisition of UNACEM Chile.

The corporate structure for the Grupo UNACEM is approved through a simple reorganization.

We began a new corporate phase with UNACEM Corp as the holding company of the UNACEM Group, and with the specialisation of the cement business through UNACEM Peru.

We consolidated our presence in the southwestern United States with the acquisition of the Tehachapi cement plant, doubling our installed clinker and cement capacity.

We strengthened our position in the Peruvian energy sector with the acquisition of the Termochilca thermal power plant through Celepsa.

Launch of UNACEM North America, the new brand that consolidates cement operations in the United States, through the integration of our plants: Drake Cement and Tehachapi Cement.
